Advanced Certificate in Foundation Phase Teaching Qualified teachers can now complete an advanced certificate 100% online in as little as 21 calendar months.

This fully online programme enables teachers to advance their level of learning achievement through increased knowledge, problem-solving exercises, and practical applications. The skills learned can immediately be used in the classroom; completing the Advanced Certificate in Teaching (ACT) also qualifies teachers for possible promotions or better job opportunities.

Students complete the certificate programme 100% online, so there are no travel or contact session requirements and there aren’t any formal exams. The student’s progress is measured through online assessments which are based on the demonstration of methods and procedures to be used in the professional management of learning, within defined contexts.

Applied competencies to meet National Qualifications Framework (NQF) Level 6, are organised into seven consecutive, 10-week modules. These are designed to meet the occupational needs of working teachers and includes academic tutoring and technological support. Students can enrol and pay for one module at a time.

The Advanced Certificate in Foundation Phase Teaching, will equip teachers who want to strengthen their specialisation and will improve their capacity, allowing them to demonstrate an understanding of teaching and learning. The course will be the basis for a critical discussion, analysis, and reflection on classroom practice for Grade R to Grade 3.
